M5-2-COF gauge is shown mounted to an ESM301 motorized test stand with G1086 COF fixture. Cable attaches to the gauge with a hook, and is routed through a pulley to the 200 g sled.

The COF is calculated based on the sled weight, adjustable from 100 to 1,000 g, to conform to various standards. A password can be set to protect settings from unauthorized changes.

MESUR® Lite is a basic data collection program which tabulates data received from a Mark-10 force or torque gauge and allows for exporting of data to Excel.

MESUR® gauge is an advanced data collection program designed to interface with Mark-10 gauges and test stands. The program tabulates and plots load vs. time, and provides a number of sophisticated test setup, analysis, and reporting tools.

The M5-2-COF is developed as one of three key parts of a Coëfficiënt of Friction (COF) test system.
Based on the Series-5 Digital Force Gauge the M5-2-COF may also be used for a number of common tension and compression testing applications. It includes the Series-5 full set of functions and settings but with the added COF feature.

With a capacity of up to 10 N, the M5-2-COF gauge can be used to measure friction for a wide range of materials.
Measurements can be made in conformance to ASTM D1894 and other relevant standards.

The M5-2-COF can be ordered in combination with the G1086 COF fixture (COF-K1) which in combination with a motorized test stand will form a complete COF test system
As the test stand crosshead with the M5-2-COF moves upwards, the cable is pulled around the low-friction pulley and drags the sled over the material.
The static and kinetic coefficients of friction is displayed on the backlit LCD of and recorded by the gauge.

The M5-2-COF Force Gauge comes with MESUR^® Lite data acquisition software.
MESUR^® Lite tabulates continuous or single point data. One-click export to Excel allows for further data manipulation.

Mark-10 Digital Force Gauges are versatile instruments, in general they are combined with additional equipment to a purposely build system to perform the required tasks.
