Bolt Tension
Bolt tension measurement establishes the actual clamp load in a fastener rather than relying on applied torque, which can lose most of its energy to friction. Ultrasonic monitors gauge the change in a bolt's acoustic length as it is tightened, giving a direct, repeatable read of preload on critical joints in offshore, power-generation, wind and heavy-engineering structures. Bolt geometry, transducer coupling and acoustic calibration are what govern a trustworthy figure.
