Wood Moisture
Few materials are as moisture-sensitive as wood: kiln-dried timber, flooring and joinery all move, cup or fail if installed at the wrong moisture content, which is why woodworkers, builders and timber merchants check it before every critical job. Pin meters drive electrodes into the grain to read electrical resistance, while pinless meters scan beneath the surface without marking the piece, and both must be corrected for species and temperature to give a true figure.
