Coating Thickness
Coating thickness measurement verifies that a dry film falls within its specified range — too thin and protection suffers, too thick and adhesion or cost can be affected. Most handheld gauges use magnetic induction on steel and eddy-current on non-ferrous metals, with ultrasonic methods covering coatings on plastics and other substrates, all in line with ISO 2808. Checkline supplies the gauges, interchangeable probes and reporting software needed for repeatable dry-film readings across ferrous, non-ferrous and duplex systems.
Understand how the magnetic and eddy-current principles differ in the Coating Thickness Measurement Knowledge Base, then match a gauge to your substrate and film with the Coating Thickness Measurement Selection Guide.
