Shore Hardness
Shore hardness is the standard method for testing the hardness of elastomers, rubbers, soft plastics and foams, measured with a spring-loaded durometer to ASTM D2240 and ISO 868 / ISO 7619. The correct scale depends on the material: Shore A for flexible rubbers and soft compounds, Shore D for hard plastics and rigid materials, and Shore OO for foams and gels.
This range covers handheld durometers, test stands for repeatable readings, and durometer essentials. Read the scales and operating principles in the Shore Hardness Knowledge Base, or choose the right instrument with the Shore Hardness Selection Guide.
