In manufacturing and process settings, moisture content drives product quality, drying costs and shelf life, so plants measure it across raw materials, intermediates and finished goods. Industrial meters tend to be rugged, multi-scale instruments — some dedicated to a single material, others able to switch between many — chosen for the substrate, the sampling method and the conditions on the line.
