Holiday Detectors

Holiday detectors locate pinholes, voids and thin spots — the "holidays" that compromise a protective coating before it is put into service. Low-voltage wet-sponge units suit thin films, while high-voltage spark testers cover thick coatings on pipelines, tanks and structural steel, with the test voltage set to the film thickness. Finding a flaw before commissioning is far cheaper than tracing corrosion later.
