Hardness Measurement
Hardness measurement determines how well a material resists permanent indentation, and it is one of the most widely used checks in quality control across rubber, plastics, metals and composites. Because different materials and standards call for different methods, Checkline Europe groups its instruments by measurement principle — Shore hardness for elastomers and plastics, rubber hardness (IRHD) for cured rubber, Barcol hardness for rigid composites and aluminium, and metal hardness for on-site testing of finished parts.
Choosing the right scale and instrument is what makes results comparable and standards-compliant. For the principles behind each method, see the Hardness Measurement Knowledge Base; to match an instrument to your material and application, use the Hardness Measurement Selection Guide.
