Compact continuous DC holiday detector for inspecting protective coatings and linings

The PosiTest HHD C is a compact, high voltage holiday detector designed to locate pinholes, porosity, cracks and other discontinuities in non-conductive coatings applied to conductive substrates. It uses continuous DC output with an adjustable test voltage from 0.5 to 30 kV to identify defects that may compromise a protective coating.

Its one-piece wand design incorporates the rechargeable batteries and electronics into the handle, eliminating the need for a separate battery pack. The instrument features a colour LCD, an integrated voltmeter that displays the electrode voltage during testing, and audible and visual alarms when a holiday is detected.

The test voltage can be set manually or calculated by entering the coating thickness. A range of optional brush and rolling spring electrodes supports inspection of different coated surfaces and pipe diameters, while an optional 43 cm extension rod helps reach floors and difficult-to-access areas.
