The TI-007X is a precision ultrasonic wall thickness gauge has been developed for high-resolution measurements on thin metals and plastics. The technology comes in an extruded aluminum housing, which has been sealed to resist even difficult environmental and production conditions.
The measuring range of the TI-007X wall thickness gauge is 0.15 - 25.4mm with standard probe T-402-5507. Using a single-element probe with delay tip, thin materials can be measured. The device then automatically removes any echo-echo (E-E) coatings and automatically switches to interface-echo mode (I-E) when measuring thicker materials. For the measurements of plastics, the user selects the plastic mode (PLAS) again with a graphite delay-tip.
In addition,the TI-007X offers the difference mode (DIFF) where the user sets a nominal value and the instrument calculates the ± difference between the nominal value and the measured wall thickness. In alarm mode, the user sets maximum and minimum values, and the LEDs on the front panel are triggered when the readings are outside the tolerance range.
The TI-007 can also be used with single element contact probes, extending the measurement range up to 923mm (depending on material and probe). Although the TI-007X does not have an internal memory, individual readings can be sent to a PC or other suitable data collector via the USB port. If a data store is needed, the TI-007DLX is the right alternative device choice.
