Hand-held digital tension meter with colour TFT display for yarns, fibres and wires

The DTS digital tension meter measures the running tension of yarns, fibres, wires and similar flexible materials in textile production, wire processing and quality control. The hand-held instrument is available in 12 measuring ranges, with different measuring-head widths to suit the material and application.

The DTS has a colour TFT display with three selectable views: a numeric reading, a numeric reading with bar graph, and an X-Y diagram showing tension over time. The display can be fixed at 0°, 90°, 180° or 270°, or set to rotate automatically. MIN and MAX readings can be displayed over an adjustable time window of 2–60 seconds.

For repeatable measurements, the DTS provides automatic zero adjustment when the measuring position changes, programmable MIN/MAX alarms and adjustable electronic damping. Models DTS-500 to DTS-30K also include a material thickness compensator. One factory material calibration and up to four customer calibrations are supported for measurements on different materials.

The DTS can record a measurement series and store its statistical summary, including the last reading, average, minimum, maximum, standard deviation and number of measurements. One summary is stored at a time; saving another replaces the previous result.

Memory and Rollers

Measurement Memory and Display Functions

The DTS provides three live display modes and a single-series statistical memory. It does not offer the five recording modes or extended data storage of the DTX.

Numeric Display	Shows the current tension reading numerically, with relevant measurement information and alarm indications.
Numeric with Bar Graph	Shows the tension reading numerically and as a bar graph, with MIN/MAX readings within the selected time window.
X-Y Time–Tension Diagram	Graphical display of tension against time, with an adjustable time axis of 0.5–60 seconds.
MIN/MAX Display	Displays minimum and maximum readings within an adjustable time window of 2–60 seconds.
Measurement Recording	Starts and stops recording a measurement series using the MEMORY key.
Statistical Memory	Stores the last reading, average, minimum, maximum, standard deviation, number of readings, material name and measurement date/time.
Memory Capacity	One statistical measurement-series summary. Saving a new summary overwrites the previous one.
Memory Review	Stored statistical results can be displayed on the instrument.

Guide Roller Options

The DTS can be configured with different guide rollers to suit material type, surface requirements and running speed. Standard rollers are made from hard-coated aluminium; alternative rollers are specified when ordering the instrument.

Options

Code MH — Stationary mounting	Factory-fitted M5 mounting threads (max. thread depth 5 mm, hole spacing 23 mm) with removable 10 mm distance bolts for stationary use. Must be specified when ordering; only factory-made mounting holes are permitted.
